Diaper Need Awareness Week 2018
Diaper Need Awareness Week is the most important time to get involved in the critical work of the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank. Tens of thousands of St. Louis families are counting on us to make sure they have the diapers they need to keep their little ones clean and dry, happy and healthy.
65% of the families the Diaper Bank serves report having to stretch a limited diaper supply by lining diapers with newspapers, "cleaning" out soiled diapers and putting them back on and leaving children in dirty or wet diapers far longer than they should be. In an effort to conserve expensive diapers, some parents even report limiting the amount of food and drink their child receives as the diaper supply begins to dwindle.
Bottom Line? You can't raise happy, healthy kids without diapers and the Diaper Bank is the only organization in the region that is 100% committed to making sure families have the diapers they need.
You can support these families during Diaper Need Awareness Week by hosting a diaper drive, hosting a fundraiser, making a financial contribution to the Diaper Bank ($1 = 8 diapers!) or attending any of the events of that week.
St. Louis families need you. Pledge your support during Diaper Need Awareness Week and help wipe out #diaperneed in the region.

CEO of the National Diaper Bank Network, Joanne Goldblum, will present a national context for the work being done right here in St. Louis and STL Diaper Bank founder and executive director, Jessica Adams, along with several current Diaper Bank partners, will share specific information about the impact of adding diapers to your programming, benefits of partnership with the Diaper Bank and upcoming opportunities for new partnerships.
Host a Diaper Drive
September 1-30, 2018
Diapers are what matters at the Diaper Bank. We can't do what we do without them.
We need folks to register to collect diapers during the month of September to help us collect 300,000 diapers!
Register to have a physical diaper drive and set up a collection box in your neighborhood, at your church, your kid's school, your office and have folks drop off packages of diapers to be donated to the Diaper Bank. Then, bring your diapers to our Fill the Truck Diaper Drive event on September 29 between 9am-3pm at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Brentwood.
Register to have an online diaper drive and set up an Amazon wish list that sends diapers either directly to the Diaper Bank or to your home! If you have diapers delivered to you, you'll bring them to our Fill the Truck Diaper Drive on September 29 and help us FILL THAT TRUCK!
A fundraiser is a great companion to ANY type of diaper drive. If you (or your friends or family) donate $1 to the Diaper Bank we can get 8 diapers out to children in need - if you take that $1 to the store you can usually get about 4 diapers. When you register your diaper drive you'll have the chance to set up a fundraiser to go along with it!
Host a Fundraiser
September 1-30, 2018
Individuals and teams can set up their own fundraising pages to help raise the money necessary for the Diaper Bank to get diapers on the bums of 35,000 St. Louis kiddos this year. Set your own fundraising goal, use our easy tools to share your fundraiser with friends and family, and customize your fundraising page with your own pictures or a story about why you want to help end #diaperneed in STL.
Really want to get into it? Call us to talk about scheduling a house party or happy hour to engage your friends and family in the mission!
Every $1 donated provides 8 diapers to a child in need - that's twice as many diapers as you can get at the store!
Register your fundraiser or fundraising team any time - the actual fundraising begins officially on September 1! The top fundraiser as of September 21 will receive two free tickets to our Bottoms Up For Babies event that evening and will be publicly recognized at the event.
